Transferlink vs TransferRoom: an honest comparison

Both platforms connect football clubs with players. TransferRoom is a large, established network with data and live deal events. Transferlink is younger and narrower: a club posts the player it needs, FIFA-licensed agents answer with one player each, and it is free for clubs until 1 March 2027.

How a club finds a player on each

On TransferRoom, a club can post the profile it needs, and agents and clubs with a matching player receive an alert and can pitch [2][3]. Its strength is reach and data: hundreds of member clubs, valuations and salary benchmarks next to the pitches [1].

On Transferlink, a club posts a request: position, kind of transfer, age, budget, deadline and, if it wants, a fixed fee for the agent. Every verified agency in the regions or countries the club chooses sees it. Each agency may offer one player per request, its best, and confirms it has a mandate from that player. The club answers every candidate with Interested or Decline; Interested opens messages and an online meeting. The whole deal, up to the fee, stays on record in one file.

The difference in short: TransferRoom gives a club a market to search; Transferlink gives a club a short list of answers to one question.

How agents are checked

Since October 2023 only FIFA-licensed agents may provide agent services in international football, and a club that works with an unlicensed one can be sanctioned too [6]. That makes the licence the first thing a club needs to trust.

TransferRoom admits agents after its own checks, which it describes as confirmation by the agent's clients and the platform's checks [2]; it does not publish whether a FIFA licence is required. On Transferlink the licence is per person, as FIFA issues it: every agent enters his own licence number, the Transferlink team checks name and number in FIFA's public register, and only an agent with a checked licence can offer a player. See how to check an agent's licence yourself.

Pricing

TransferRoom charges clubs and agencies a subscription that depends on their size and the contract, and takes no commission on transfers [4]. It does not publish prices.

Transferlink is free for clubs until 1 March 2027; after that a club pays €149 a month, worldwide, with up to three open requests at a time, and its first request stays free. Agencies that join now use everything free until 1 March 2027, without a payment card; after that they choose a monthly plan from €149. Transferlink never takes a share of a fee and never holds money: a fee agreed on a request is paid by the club directly to the agency.

Which one fits you

TransferRoom is likely the better fit if you want a large existing network, deep player data, valuations and salary benchmarks, and in-person deal days where you meet many clubs in one place.

Transferlink fits if you are a club that wants to ask one clear question and get a few serious answers from licensed agents, free until March 2027 and without events or travel; or an agent who wants to see what clubs need right now, with the fee known before you offer.

Many clubs and agents will use more than one channel. Nothing on Transferlink stops you.
